about

Hailing from the green countryside of the Hudson Valley and transplanted to Brooklyn five years ago, keyboardi singer-songwriter Julia VanTieghem creates original songs that explore broken relationships and longings of the heart. With a background as a classically trained pianist and vocalist, her emotionally honest solo style evokes comparisons to Regina Spektor and Fiona Apple. She self-released her first EP Trampled Gardens in 2006. After a hiatus, she has reemerged with new material celebrating resilience in life and love, and plans to record a new album by summer 2011. She performs in NYC and upstate.
