Hailing from the green countryside of the Hudson Valley and transplanted to Brooklyn seven years ago, keyboard singer-songwriter Julia VanTieghem creates original songs that explore broken relationships and longings of the heart. With a background as a classically trained pianist and vocalist, her emotionally honest solo style evokes comparisons to Regina Spektor and Fiona Apple. She self-released her first EP Trampled Gardens in 2006. After a hiatus, she began performing again in 2011 with new material celebrating resilience in life and love. She is working on her second album due out in early spring 2013.
